In the News This Week

Hello Families,
While our onsite courses are ending, students have been given one last (onsite) class project to complete on their own and due May 27 or June 3, in most cases. Grades freeze June 7 as teachers will be working on grades and processing Month 10 materials. Please sit with your teen and sort through their planner sheets, assist them with their last project, year-end portfolios, fill-in their home school classes such as PE, Computer Tech/Code, Studio Art, etc. and make your year-end conference dates with your Supervising Teacher.

Due at your year-end conference with your Supervising Teacher. They will guide you individually, as to what you and your teen needs to do, to successfully wrap-up this last semester and prep for the fall.

Coast Redwood High School Graduation

Suggested Courses for Concurrent High School Students

Cabrillo High School Release Form

Cabrillo's new Concurrent Enrollment Form is now available on our website! The old form will still be accepted but please do NOT fill out section numbers unless you are using them to restrict the student's hours of attendance at Cabrillo. If section numbers are listed on the form those will be the only sections the student will be able to register for. In general we will be approving the student at the course level so that they can register in any available section through WebAdvisor on or after their priority date and time. This will also allow them to add/drop sections of approved courses through WebAdvisor.

Another change is that, since we are not actually registering the student, the student does not have to be present for us to process the form. Someone else can now bring the form to Admissions and Records for the student, we will process it at the window and return it to the person who brought it in. Forms may also be emailed to webreg@cabrillo.edu with the subject "Concurrent Registration" and will be processed within two working days. We can not accept faxes since we need the ability to respond to the student if the form is incomplete, or we have not received their current semester application to the college. If there is a problem we will respond to emails via the email address from which the form was received.

Please note that parent/guardian signatures are required for ALL high school students, even those age 18 and over.

The following links are reference materials for students planning to apply for four-year State Universities and UC.

Community Colleges such as Cabrillo College, do not require the SAT/ACT, however admissions does require course placement tests in English and in Math. For additional information, please refer to our links/tabs noted above under GUIDANCE and  ALTERNATIVE PATHWAYS TO COLLEGE

When's the Best Time to Take the SAT?

The SAT and other College Board tests are offered several times a year. Most students take the SAT for the first time during the spring of their junior year and a second time during the fall of their senior year.

Create a test-taking schedule based on your college application plan.
